In the Summer of 1985, Edward I. Koch ran for Mayor again, hoping that New Yorkers would elect him to a third term.  One day, the Mayor paid Woodhaven voters a visit and stopped briefly at the corner of Jamaica Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard, stood up on one of those cement box-benches that used to be there -- what were they called anyway? -- and addressed the crowd.  He was enthusiastically received and went on to win handily later that year.  Here are a few snapshots from the day Ed Koch visited Woodhaven:
