We're a little late with this report -- and we're right on time!  A few weeks back, the New York Metropolitan Country Music Association sponsored a free concert in Forest Park, bringing us the rocking country sounds of Sean Kershaw and the New Jack Ramblers.  It was a terrific show, and we'll be bringing you coverage of that in a future report.

We wanted to show you some of the other highlights of the evening.  It was a fun crowd, a great bunch of people and early on, maybe during the second or third song, we started seeing a few folks coming up to dance.

It was a beautiful night, the weather was nearly perfect.  During that week it had rained nearly every day, but on this Wednesday the skies were blue, and there was very little humidity.  Perfect weather for a dance out at the bandshell!  And as the band progressed through their set, more and more audience members joined the dancers in front of the stage.  Looks fun, doesn't it?

Then, the band took a break and a dance instructor took the microphone and taught the audience a step or two.

Before too long, we had a heap of line dancers, learning a new dance.  Everyone seemed to pick it up pretty quickly.  I was about to join them, but I've got this old football injury, you see . . .

Here's a video of the line dancers, with background music from the show - "When The Sheriff Comes To Town" by Sean Kershaw (The Coney Island Cowboy) and the New Jack Ramblers:

Great stuff -- these folks did marvelous and had a great time.  We even had some young folks join in the fun.

We said earlier that this report was somewhat timely - and that's because before the show started we spoke with Michelle Lopez, President of the New York Metropolitan Country Music Association and she introduced us to Mary Lamont and Jim Marchese of The Mary Lamont Band -- who will be giving a FREE Concert on Wednesday, August 12th at 7:30 PM at the Seuffert Bandshell.  Here's Mary and Jim:

And here's our Project Woodhaven interview from that evening -- nice folks, we're looking forward to the show:

And, again, we'll be posting a report soon about The Coney Island Cowboy -- his was a great show and we got lots of great pics and video.
