Of the many on-going projects we have going, it is the Woodhaven Wiki that is both the most challenging, and the most rewarding. And one of the bonuses of such an endeavor is that it affords people the opportunity to build something together.

The intent of the Woodhaven Wiki isn't just to write a history of Woodhaven, about the founders and the earliest days -- that's been done before, and done quite well. Instead, the hope is that we'll use the Wiki to build a history of Woodhaven as we remember it, and along the way add a little knowledge to the history books, as well.

We've done a lot of ground work, getting the Wiki off the ground, and we chose to start with Jamaica Avenue because that's something we're all familiar with. But there are hundreds more topics of interest that need to be tackled. For instance, if someone out there is very knowledgeable about the history of P.S. 60, hopefully that person can get us started. Others, upon seeing that history being written, may add their two cents here and there until, collectively, we have a comprehensive history of P.S. 60 written by the people who went there, who knew the teachers, who saw the changes over the years, first hand.

In any event, we've prepared a few videos regarding the Woodhaven Wiki project. The first video is an overview of the Wiki and how it works. The second video shows you how to join, and the third video shows you a few basics, how to create a topic, how to edit an existing topic, how to post a picture, etc.
