Here we are at Part 3 of our report.  After Elvis left the building, how can you top that?  So the band took a 5 minute break.  I took a quick walk around and did an unscientific count in the dark.  There was somewhere around 400 people in the audience by now.  And when I glanced into the parking lot, I saw a lot more cars than were there earlier.  When the evening started, with the chancy weather, we weren't sure if there would be 2 dozen people.  Turned out to be a real nice crowd -- a fun crowd.

And their faith paid off in the next few minutes as The Fab Four walked on stage.  They tuned up their instruments and in a few moments, the band began to play.

I was born the year the Beatles came to the US, so by the time I was old enough to care about such things -- they were ex-Beatles.  So I sat back and really enjoyed this portion of the show.  They stuck to the early-Beatles stuff ("I Saw Her Standing There" and "Twist and Shout" to name a few).  The last song of the set was "Yesterday" -- and it was really nice -- at times you could hear the crown singing along with Paul.

I guess if you let your imagination run a little wild -- and think of what the Beatles would have looked like on stage at our bandshell -- this picture below would make a fine representation.

Ladies and Gentlemen, here they are . . . The Beatles!

And before you knew it, the evening was almost over.  The next group was "The Beach Boys."

Note:  I posted the videos on You Tube this afternoon, and this one already got a comment saying "Beach Boys played Forest Park Bowl c. 65."  I've never heard that before -- is that true?

In any event, by this time it was really getting dark and some folks -- especially those with little ones -- began leaving.  I took the opportunity to walk about and take pictures of the stage from different vantage points.

Here we are way at the back.  And then over at the right of the stage.

Here are The Beach Boys on stage:

And here is our final video of this project.  In this one, the singer runs through the crowd, getting them to sing along to "Barbara Ann," which was the last song of the evening.  You can see in this video that, even though a lot of the folks had left, there was still a good-sized crowd.

All of the acts were performed by The Mahoney Brothers -- a talented group of brothers.  Check out their website for a list of their appearances.

Special thanks to Barbara Amarantinis for arranging the schedule of events.  And thanks again to Joe Curcio and Ridgewood Savings Bank for sponsoring the show.
