This stretch of Jamaica Avenue has been on our radar lately, what with a rash of closings. Mena Fashions recently closed, and Phil's Cheese and Cold Cuts has been closed for a while. We recently visited Jason's just before they shut their doors, and with Jack & Jill now out of business -- that meant 5 lots in a row with their gates down. Jack & Jill has just been rplaced by Verizon (which we blogged about here), so we hope that better times are ahead for this stretch of the avenue. There are still 4 empty lots, but hopefully we'll see them filled soon. With this in mind, here's a look back in time at this part of Woodhaven - enjoy!
