At the bottom of every page, we always ask for suggestions -- and this week, we got one via email from Jo Ann, a former resident of Woodhaven, now living in Virginia.  She writes: "Growing up I lived on Forest Parkway and I always thought it was really neat that my building had a name.  Did you ever notice how a lot of the apartment buildings in Woodhaven have names?"  To be honest, we never noticed, nor gave it much thought.  So ths afternoon, we took a quick run about town with our camera looking to see what we could find.

Along Park Lane South we came across these two -- The Woodridge at 85th Street -- and the Park View at 89th Street.  As they overlook the park, these names are quite apt.

Here's a nice one along Forest Parkway -- that's a beautiful archway with the name Forest Chateau inscribed.

And here's another one along Forest Parkway - the name hidden way back beneath the awning -- The Colonna.  Colonna is a cape in Greece, but we're not sure that's where it got its' name from.

And below at left is MacCayda Court on 96th Street.  We don't know where this got its' name -- perhaps that plaque would provide a clue, but we didn't notice it until we looked at the picture.  We'll swing by in the morning and see.  And, at the right, is The Haven House, on 91st Street, just a block away from Park Lane South.

And, finally, we have the Georgian Hall, on 85th Road.  That's a beautiful entranceway, isn't it?

Hopefully, we'll get some more feedback -- and folks will write in to tell us a bit more aboutthese names, as well as pointing us towards others we may have missed.  Thanks for a nice idea, Jo Ann!
