It's that time of year again -- Halloween!  And Woodhaven has a lot of residents that get into the holiday spirit and deck their houses with skulls and bones and ghouls and goblins.  We took a little tour around town one night this week and captured a few of the better ones that we saw.  Note:  We probably missed some really good ones -- if you know of a house that someone did a real nice job on, drop us a line.

Here's a nice display we saw around 78th Street.  They did an outstanding job mixing in their lights with their plants.

Here's another view of the same house -- I love the way they did the doorway.  A very colorful display.

Here's another house, I believe it was around 80th Street.  This picture doesn't do it justice -- what caught our eyes was the ghost on the 2nd Floor.

Here's another house somewhere down by 80th Street.  They had a nice creepy light flashing on the figure in the window.

The owner of the house invited me up for a closer look.  The figure in the window is actually a prop from a Carnival held in the Dominican Republic.  Beautiful, isn't it?

Here's a haunted house on Forest Parkway.  Love the way the  white archway and the picket fence goes with the decorations.  They did an outstanding job.

Here's another view of the house on Forest Parkway.  Very creative!  Love the chained convict.  And the disembodied head is a riot -- it speaks!

Same house, other side of the yard.  A graveyard, complete with a Spectre of Death and a flying ghostie.  A really nice presentation!

Here's a house on 90th - complete with inflatable globe with ghoul inside.

Here's another house on 90th.  That's real pretty, isn't it?  I love the illuminated bones hanging on the railings.  And the cat in the window really caught my eye.  And they also have a great "Bates Motel" sign in the window.

Here's our video of the evening's tour -- and then we'll follow it up with the mega-display on 91st Street:

On to the house on 91st.  I think just about everyone knows this house - these folks do a great job for Halloween and Christmas.

Here's the graveyard, right next to the year round fish pond.  Love the pile of skulls!  Maybe there's piranhas in that pond and that's their victims' bones!  Be a fun way to handle intruders :-)

People were stopping and looking over this display -- you know, if you stand and look at it for a while and you suddenly see things you hadn't noticed.

Another look at the graveyard on the left.  These guys get better each and every year.

Here's another view of the porch.  Very colorful and a lot of fun.  Must be a lot of work to put together though.  Can you imagine how much room this stuff takes up in your basement?

This tickles me, I don't know why.  The two skeletons on the ladder.  Like they were the ones who decorated the yard.  Lots and lots of great stuff to look at.

And a view of this same house from across the street.  Once again, a great job -- and a nice job by a lot of the residents of Woodhaven, getting into the spirit of Halloween!
