Sources told Project Woodhaven yesterday that the MTA's plans to cut the Z Line and the Q56 had been shelved.  Assemblyman Mike Miller confirmed this news at an appearance in Richmond Hill last evening.  However, Mr. Miller warned us that we still need to remain on guard as  there's always a chance they could change their minds.  There will be public hearings to discuss the potential cuts and Woodhaven will still need a strong showing to ensure our current services remain intact.

We were also advised that work on the elevated line is scheduled to begin this year.   Structural work will begin on the elevated stations near the end of the line (e.g. 111th Street) and move our way.

This wonderful news was tempered with word that one of our firehouses will once again be targeted for closing.  Developing . . .
