UPDATE FEBRUARY 2011: Last year we covered the story of the disgusting slob over by 96th Street between 89th and 90th Avenues -- the one who collects his dog sh*t in plastic bags and ties it to the fire hydrant. A nearby resident shared this picture with us from last Friday -- this slob has tied at least eight bags of dog sh*t to the hydrant. We hope one of the residents there will keep a camera handy and catch this slob in the act.
FROM JULY 2010: If we were to give out awards for being a bad neighbor -- or for disgusting acts -- this would be a front-runner for the main prize. We were notified about this via e-mail -- and the next time we were in the area we slowed down and took a picture. Apparently, this person does this on a semi-regular basis. This is on 96th Street between 89th and 90th Avenues -- at the side of PS 306.
Someone has been walking their dog -- catching the doggie poo in a plastic bag -- and then tying that bag to the top of a fire hydrant.
How disgusting is that? Most people -- normal people -- would bring the bag home and dispose of it in their garbage. What kind of slob leaves it out in public for someone else to clean up? What kind of cretin ties it to something as important as a fire hydrant?
Actually, the small area around that hydrant looks pretty bad -- and that encourages vulgar dolts like this person. The person who tipped us to this does not know who is doing this -- if you do, please let them know the community finds this repugnant and wants them to stop.
