St. Thomas the Apostle recently had an art show to showcase the artistic talents of their students -- and anyone who attended was treated to a remarkable array of artwork.  There were many pieces inspired by famous artists -- Vincent Van Gogh in particular.  SEE MORE:  You can see more of the art show on St. Thomas' own page -- click here.

Here are some pieces inspired by Van Gogh's paintings of sunflowers --

There were many different groups of paintings, and it was neat to see how the many different young artists tackled the same topic --

This is very interesting -- some self-portraits by 2nd and 3rd Graders.

These are some nice cityscapes -- nice reflection work -

Here, they combine what they learned when making cityscapes with a tribute to Van Gogh's Starry Night.

Van Gogh's Starry Night was the subject of a beautiful song by Don McLean called "Vincent."

The character of Van Gogh was featured last year in an episode of Doctor Who, in which Van Gogh explained the vision he saw when he looked at the night sky --

It's wonderful to see that spirit carried on in the hearts and minds of the students at St. Thomas.  Here are some 6th grader tributes to Monet.

Here are some 7th Graders creations of illustrations using their names -- very nice!

Kindergartners and 1st Graders learned about colors and the artist Jackson Pollock.  This is a real nice program that they have at STA.

Here are some creations dealing with mummification!

This was a great exhibit and everyone who attended had a terrific time.
