FALL

Fall continues until December 21st, but the colors we usually associate with Fall have already faded.  Our trees are mostly bare, and we're not even past Thanksgiving yet.  But luckily, we were able to spend some time taking a few good snaps before all the leaves fell.  Starting us off is a view of the steps leading to the tennis courts at Park Lane South.

Cypress Hill Cemetery, behind Franklin K. Lane.  If you're the type of person that wants to be buried someplace when you go, this looks to be a nice pretty spot.  On a hill, with the sun shining down on you.

And here is the view you'd have.  Sort of.

Here's a nice view of Woodhaven from Park Lane South.

The steps of Forest Park.  Looks beautiful in all seasons, but especially in the Fall.

That rock might not look it, but it's pretty massive - and you've probably passed it a million times.  It's on Forest Park Drive, just north of Park Lane South.  How long do you think it has been sitting there?

The Forest Park Golf Course.  Still a lot of green hanging in there.

It was a beautiful day and there were a lot of golfers out (though to be honest, they'd be out there in almost any weather).

The Golf Course is huge.  We're going to make sure we do a feature on it next Spring and again in the Fall -- before and after shots.  That would be nice.

Here's the Oak Ridge building as you leave the golf course.

And turning to your left, you see the road towards the bandshell and the carousel.

There's an old friend, visible through the leaves from Forest Park.

The Brooklyn-Queens Greenway sign.

The bandshell, looking good.

The next bunch of shots are of the picnic grove - a lovely area any time of year, but especially when the leaves are turning all sorts of colors.

There were quite a few people scattered about here and there.

There were even a few barbecues going.  The people were tossing a few sticks in the fire, too, so it smelled great up there.  Really a beautiful day to be walking around Forest Park.

The colors up here in the Fall are beautiful.

The back end of the bandshell.

A man out walking his dogs.  If they were the rolling-around-in-leaves kind of dogs, they'd be in doggie heaven.

The view of the golf course from just behind the bandshell.

There are a few fences still damaged from last year's hurricane, affording you great views of the course from the picnic area.

The photographer's feet - Mrs. Project Woodhaven.

The parking lot - the carousel -- and the skies suddenly looking a little dark.  In fact, it rained hard about half an hour after this.

The entrance to the Carousel.  This was the last day of 2013 -- we'll share our last day pics in another post.  Look forward to seeing them open again in 2014!

And here it is -- last call for 2013!

And finally, here are some pics taken about a week later -- we were experimenting with our panorama feature on our phone camera.

This is a really wide-shot -- but to get the full panorama effect, click here to view it much larger.

A couple of extra panoramas

And finally -- back to where we started -- The End!
