Throughout the year, The East Coast Car Association hosts Cruise Nights, Car Shows and a Toy Run all to benefit St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children in Bayside, N.Y.

The East Coast Car Association has been holding an annual Toy Run since 1999.  It averages over 100 cars and motorcycles filled with toys for the children of St. Mary's Hospital for Children. During this ceremony at the hospital, ECCA Toys for Tots presents St. Mary's with an annual donation, which was over $9,000 last year.  Since 1999 they have raised over $100,000 for St. Mary's Hospital for Children.

This year, the Woodhaven Residents Block Association is proud to announce that we will be participating in the 2013 Tots for Tots Car Run.  We will be asking our residents and members to bring one unwrapped new toy - an educational toy - to our next Town Hall Meeting (Friday, October 25th - 7:30 PM @ Emanuel United Church of Christ, 91st Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard).  Or you can drop it off at our office on Sunday, October 20th (during the Street Fair).  We will announce other dates and times you can drop gifts off at our office.

This year's Toy Run begins at the Forest Park Bandshell Parking Lot and leaves for St. Mary's at about 12:30 PM on Sunday, November 17th.

This year's Fall Car Show acts as a fundraiser to raise money for St. Mary's -- it's a great opportunity to get out and see a great number of classic cars -- as well as some new ones.  Here is what we saw this year -- not only are the cars top notch, but they are all shined and polished to perfection.

Here's an old Cadillac -- a real beauty.

There were cars for everyone --

The East Coast Car Association's Car Shows are great family events and there were a lot of kids there with their folks.

This is a very colorful event -- they don't color cars the way they used to!

The WRBA and Historical Society was there -- here we are with Assemblyman Mike Miller.

Mr. Woodhaven was at the Car Show -- and here is his video:

This old hearse had a lot of cool stuff -- perfect for October!  Check out the license plate!

The back of the Caddy --

The insides of these cars were every bit as interesting as the outside - maybe even more so!

The nose of a Ford.

Here is an alternate view of the same Ford.

Again, the older cars not only looked great -- they were so colorful!

The WRBA's Arlene Annunziata stands next to her favorite car that day.  The WRBA will be selling those cool WDHVN 11421 Shirts at the Street Fair (Sunday, October 20th at 84-20 Jamaica Avenue).

There were smaller cars there a well!

As well as motorcycles --

Here are the volunteers for Toys for Tots -- they do such great work.

And here is the whole group as they appear in this week's Times-Newsweekly (taken by Nick Biondo).

There was a beautiful display of balloons --

This was a pet-friendly event!

Everyone had smiles on their faces.
